HOW TO BECOME A REALTOR^® MEMBER

Step 1. One prerequisite to becoming a member is that your broker must be a REALTOR® member in our Association.

Step 2. Now that you are affiliated with a REALTOR®Broker, CLICK HERE to complete your REALTOR® application.

Step 3. Attend the mandatory New Member Orientation and Code of Ethics training within 90 days.

Upon joining DeKalb REALTORS®, you automatically become a member of the Georgia Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, and receive benefits from all three!

REALTOR® Emeritus

A REALTOR® Emeritus is any person who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination of both, for a cumulative period of 40 years in one or more Associations of REALTORS®, and has served on a local, state or national committee for at least one year is eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status. Upon approval by the Board of Directors of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, no further payment of dues is necessary to the local, state or national Associations.

The dues waiver does not take effect until the following ‘dues season’. For example, members approved as Emeritus at the NAR Mid-Year or Annual meetings in 2017 would have their dues waived starting in 2018. Upon approval, each REALTOR® Emeritus member will receive a congratulatory letter, certificate and 40-year REALTOR® Emeritus lapel pin.

If you believe that you fulfill the requirements to achieve REALTOR® Emeritus status as defined above and would like to have all future national, state & local dues waived, please download and submit the REALTOR® Emeritus application.

*All applications must be submitted by March 15th & September 15th of each year.

All applications will then be reviewed for approval by the National Association of REALTORS® at the mid-year meeting or the Annual Conference.
